For wide-open spaces and those with high, sloping ceilings where spot-type smoke detectors are challenging to install and operate, Fire-Lite BEAM355 and BEAM355S are intelligent, addressable reflected beam smoke detectors. Atriums, cathedral ceilings, airplane hangars, warehouses, sports arenas, performance halls, and covered parking lots are among the best places to employ it. Moreover, they work in CLIP or LiteSpeed® mode with the MS9200 and MS-9600 series. Compared to a dual-ended projected beam detector, the single-ended reflecting design requires substantially less time to install.

An optical sight and a two-digit signal strength meter built into the beam detector make alignment simple. The BEAM355 and BEAM355S are suitable for open area applications where temperature extremes surpass conventional smoke detection types’ design limitations. They are designated for operation between –22°F and 131°F.

The transmitter/receiver units and reflector are part of the Fire-Lite BEAM355 and BEAM355S series. The signal strength decreases when smoke gets in the space between the device and the reflector. An alert is set off when the signal strength (smoke level) crosses a predefined threshold. The detectors include two Acclimate® settings in addition to four normal sensitivity levels. The detector’s sophisticated software algorithms automatically adapt to the ideal sensitivity for the particular environment when either Acclimate® preset is chosen.
